PARATUS Acquires eLIS.A and Strengthens its Position in Laboratory Informatics

Munich, September 2, 2026 – The PARATUS Group continues its strategic growth trajectory by welcoming eLIS.A Laborsoftware GmbH as a new member of the group. Through this acquisition, PARATUS adds an established laboratory information system (LIS) to its portfolio, strengthening its expertise in digital laboratory diagnostics and informatics.

For over ten years, eLIS.A has developed a specialized LIS for physician practices, medical care centers, and outpatient laboratories. eLIS.A digitizes the entire laboratory workflow, including order and specimen management, communication with laboratory devices, result capture and documentation, result management, archiving, and data exchange with connected systems.

eLIS.A goes beyond the functionality of a traditional LIS. As an order entry and multi-laboratory system, the platform connects analyzers and devices from different manufacturers within an organization’s own laboratory. Through LIS interfaces, external specialty and reference laboratories can be integrated directly into digital workflows as well. Orders and results from in-house and external laboratories can be managed and consolidated within a single system.

Thus, eLIS.A provides a central digital infrastructure that connects laboratory devices, in-house laboratories, external laboratory partners, and higher-level physician, practice, and information systems. The platform is not tied to specific device manufacturers or limited to point-of-care applications. This enables it to support diverse device and laboratory environments.

The acquisition underscores PARATUS Group’s growth strategy of selectively investing in specialized healthcare IT companies with strong technological expertise and established market positions.

“With eLIS.A, we are gaining a company with deep expertise in laboratory informatics and a well-established software platform. We continue to see significant growth potential for eLIS.A in the physician office laboratory market, alongside growing demand from hospitals. We therefore look forward to continuing its successful development and investing in the technology and team,” says Friedrich von Kleist, CEO of PARATUS.

For eLIS.A customers, the acquisition primarily provides continuity. Existing contacts, products, and services will remain unchanged. At the same time, becoming part of the PARATUS Group creates opportunities to expand development resources and advance the platform continuously.

“eLIS.A originated from hands-on laboratory practice and has evolved into a comprehensive platform for digital laboratory management over many years. Today, we connect in-house laboratory environments, a wide range of analyzers, and external specialty laboratories within a single system. With PARATUS, we have found a partner with whom we can further strengthen this position and shape the next stage of eLIS.A’s development,” says Michael Kögel, managing director of eLIS.A Laborsoftware GmbH.

With eLIS.A joining the group, PARATUS continues to expand its network of specialized healthcare IT companies. The two companies aim to combine their expertise to advance digital laboratory workflows and connectivity between healthcare organizations and internal and external laboratory environments.
